Turmeric Plant, 3x Rhizomes (Curcuma Longa)

£4.99

Helps ease arthritis

Growing to 1m, with lance-shaped leaves to 20cm long, narrowed to a fine point, these plants are fiercely tropical in looks and nature.

Flowers are borne in a dense, elliptic spike on a stalk about 25cm above the rhizome, the large oblong-ovate lips, purple with yellow spots and stripes, emerging from yellowish-green bracts.

You will receive 3 hand picked rhizomes to grow yourself as you see fit. These plants are best sown indoors where they can have a mimicked environment of their tropical biome, a damp, warm sunroom would be ideal. Once the plant has begun to break through it becomes more hardy over time and can tolerate English summers but WILL need to be brought in during winter months to ensure it survives.

Sun loving plant. But will tolerate low light.

Needs lifting in winter or can be grown purely as indoor plant.
